WE ARE WIEMS
Women in Engineering and Mathematical Sciences UWA is a newly founded student club dedicated to creating a supportive and inclusive community for female-identifying students studying throughout their university studies.
Founded in 2018, the club was formed to address the lack of representation for female-identifying students studying engineering and mathematical sciences at UWA.
Whilst the club caters mainly to creating a supportive community for women in a traditionally male-dominated student cohort, we also believe in creating a community that is inclusive and supportive of all genders.
We aim to achieve this mission through a variety of professional industry events and intimate social occasions.
OUR TEAM
The WiEMS team consists of a diverse group of individuals who are passionate about creating an inclusive community within the engineering and mathematical sciences cohort at UWA.

OUR ACHIEVEMENTS
Since our inception, WiEMS UWA have been a proud recipient of generous grants provided by the Faculty of Engineering and Mathematical Sciences UWA.
These grants have been used to create intimate yet impactful events which have allowed students to build meaningful connections and gain insights into various career pathways.
FOUNDATIONAL YEAR OF WIEMS
UWA's Alumni Fund Grant is awarded to student-led initiatives which offer enriching experiences to develop students intellectually and culturally and have a strong positive impact.
We were lucky enough to be awarded the Alumni Fund Grant for our first ever Alumni Networking Picnic.
This innovative initiative gave students the opportunity to connect with alumni in industry over an intimate picnic setting. With distinguished speakers speaking on their experiences and challenges in industry, this event allowed students to gain a meaningful insight into potential career pathways after graduation.
We are very thankful to the UWA Alumni Fund team for providing us with this opportunity.
